WordPress plugin 1.1.0: automatic PDF buttons

Version 1.1.0 of the WordPress plugin can add a Save as PDF button to the post types you choose, with no shortcode, and adds a connection test for your API key.

ImprovedWordPress plugin

Version 1.1.0 of the HTML to PDF Converter plugin is the largest update since the plugin was released.

Buttons without a shortcode. The plugin can insert a Save as PDF button on the post types you select, with options for its position and text. The [html2pdf] shortcode still works for placing a button by hand.

Control over what ends up in the PDF. The conversion button is hidden in the generated PDF automatically. Add the html2pdf_hide class to any other element you want left out, or style the PDF separately using the html2pdf-rendering class that is set on the page body while it is rendered.

Settings.

  • A default Media setting, screen or print, that a shortcode can override.
  • A Test connection button that checks your API key.
  • The API key field is masked, with a Show/Hide toggle.
  • A redesigned settings page with usage examples.

Security. Conversions are restricted to pages on the same site, to prevent misuse of your API key, and the key is now sent in the X-API-Key header.

The release also confirms compatibility with WordPress 7.0 and ships default styling for the button.
